The Ocean (also known as The Ocean Collective) is a Berlin-based post-metal band active since 2000. They blend progressive metal with post-rock and experimental textures, and are known for ambitious concept albums - notably Pelagial and the two-part Phanerozoic series, both inspired by Earth's geological history.
