The Micronaut is the stage name of German multi-instrumentalist and producer Stefan Streck (born 1976 in Rostock), now based in Leipzig. After years playing guitar in grindcore and emo bands, he turned to electronic production around the turn of the millennium, keeping the guitar as a signature element of his sound. His album "Forms" (2016) drew attention for its rich sonic textures and playful sample-based fusion, and he later released the Olympics-themed concept albums "Olympia (Summer Games)" and "Winter Games". He tours widely across Europe, also composes film scores, and is known for improvisation-heavy live electronic sets.
