About

The Birthday Massacre are a Canadian synth-rock band formed in 1999 in London, Ontario, now based in Toronto. Built around vocalist Chibi (Sara Taylor) and guitarist Rainbow, the band weaves gothic rock, darkwave and synthpop into a sound defined by the tension between bright melodies and dark lyrical imagery. Their 2005 album Violet broke them to a wider audience, and they have since released ten studio albums on Metropolis Records.
