Taylor Hackford is an American film director and producer. He gained wide recognition with An Officer and a Gentleman (1982) and the thriller Devil's Advocate (1997). His biographical film Ray (2004), depicting the life of Ray Charles, earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Director.
