Suzanne Pleshette was an American actress best known for playing schoolteacher Annie Hayworth in Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963). Her fate in the film is one of its most striking sequences. She also built a long television career, notably co-starring in The Bob Newhart Show throughout the 1970s.
