Sumi Shimamoto (島本須美, born December 8, 1954 in Kōchi, Japan) is a veteran Japanese voice actress and narrator who has been active since the late 1970s. She is best known for voicing Nausicaä in Hayao Miyazaki's Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984), Clarisse in Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro (1979), and Kyoko Otonashi in the long-running series Maison Ikkoku. A graduate of the Toho Gakuen College of Drama and Music, she works as a freelance artist and remains one of the most respected seiyū of her generation.
The special BD-BOX edition for the 90th anniversary of Fujiko F. Fujio's birth includes the series Kiteretsu Daihyakka, in which Shimamoto provided voice acting.
Shimamoto will appear in the film Rose of Versailles (2025) in the role of Madame Georgette Jarjayes.
