About

Cimbálová muzika Slovácko is a folk dulcimer ensemble from Mikulčice in South Moravia, carrying on the tradition of the legendary Slovácko folk band that performed in the village from 1 March 1965 under bandleader Přemysl Líčeník. The group in its current form was established in August 2000 and keeps alive the legacy of Fanoš Mikulecký - a native of Mikulčice who composed over 270 folk songs, the best known being Vínečko bílé. The core of their repertoire is rooted in the Podluží region, complemented by songs from other parts of Moravia, Slovakia, Hungary and popular world melodies.
