Sidney Lanfield (1898–1972) was an American film director who worked primarily in Hollywood during the 1930s and 1940s. He is best known for directing The Hound of the Baskervilles (1939), starring Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes, a film that became a classic of the detective genre.
