SHAKALI is the project of Finnish multi-instrumentalist Simo Hakalisto, who builds ambient and electro-acoustic music from layers of strings, bowls, bells and restrained electronics. His album Toinen Luonto - Finnish for "second nature" - draws on resonances of acoustic instruments including a 36-string kantele. Hakalisto also performs as part of the duo Lunar Horns.
