Sebastian Stan (born August 13, 1982, in Constanța, Romania) is a Romanian-American actor and producer who grew up in Vienna and, from age twelve, in New York. He built global recognition playing Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier across nine Marvel films and two series, then broke through as a dramatic lead with A Different Man (2024), which earned him a Golden Globe and a Silver Bear at the Berlinale. His portrayal of a young Donald Trump in The Apprentice (2024) brought him an Academy Award nomination - making him the first Romanian ever nominated for Best Actor.
The film Fjord directed by Cristiano Mungia, in which Stan plays the lead role, won the Palme d'Or at the 79th Cannes Film Festival - Mungia's second triumph at this festival.
Stan and his partner, actress Annabelle Wallis, confirmed in May 2026 the expectation of their first child; both attended the premiere of Fjord in Cannes.
Stan was cast in the role of Harvey Dent / Two-Face in the film The Batman: Part II (2027), thereby entering another major comic book franchise.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences invited Stan to membership in June 2025.
Stan won the Golden Globe for Best Actor (Comedy/Musical) for the film A Different Man and was nominated for an Oscar for the role of young Donald Trump in the film The Apprentice.
