About

Schovanky are a Czech country band founded in 1971 by Jan Krisťák Čapek - the first all-female country group in Europe. They started out playing bluegrass, shifted to modern country in the early 1980s, and have since performed over 4,000 concerts across Europe, Cuba and Asia. More than thirty musicians have passed through the lineup over five decades. In 2011 the Czech Country Music Association inducted them into its Hall of Fame.
