Roxette is a Swedish pop-rock duo founded in Halmstad in 1986 by Per Gessle and Marie Fredriksson. They became one of the best-selling acts of the late 1980s and 1990s, with over 90 million records sold and four US Billboard No. 1 singles. Marie Fredriksson died in December 2019 after a 17-year battle with cancer; since 2025 Per Gessle has been touring under the Roxette name with Swedish singer Lena Philipsson.
