Rob Cavestany is an American guitarist and the primary songwriter of Bay Area thrash metal band Death Angel, which he co-founded in San Francisco in 1982 with three of his cousins. His playing blends technical precision with a melodic sensibility that set Death Angel apart from their peers, most notably on the 1990 album Act III. The only member to have been with the band continuously since its formation, Cavestany steered Death Angel through a 2004 reunion and has kept them active ever since. The band earned their first Grammy nomination in 2020 for the title track of their album Humanicide.
Death Angel launched their fall tour Act III US Tour 2025, during which they perform the entire Act III album for its 35th anniversary; the first show took place on November 26 in Denver.
Death Angel released the single 'Wrath (Bring Fire)' via Nuclear Blast Records - the band's first new song in six years.
Death Angel completed the European tour Summer of Wrath Tour 2025 with shows in Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Italy, Great Britain and other countries.
Guitarist Ted Aguilar confirmed that the band is working on a new album - the first since Humanicide (2019).
