Scary Movie
A cult horror-comedy about serial killer Ghostface stalking a group of teenagers. The film fearlessly pushes boundaries and takes aim at political correctness.
Regina Lee Hall (born December 12, 1970, in Washington, D.C.) is an American actress best known for playing Brenda Meeks in the Scary Movie horror-parody franchise (2000-2006). In 2018 she became the first African American to win the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actress, for her lead role in Support the Girls. She has built a career that moves freely between broad comedy and drama, with credits ranging from Girls Trip (2017) to Paul Thomas Anderson's acclaimed 2025 thriller One Battle After Another alongside Leonardo DiCaprio.
Scary Movie 6 had its premiere on June 3, 2026 in Los Angeles; Hall returned to the role of Brenda Meeks after more than twenty years.
Variety published an interview with Hall about her role as Deandy in the film One Battle After Another and about growing chances for an Oscar nomination.
In August 2025 it was confirmed that Hall and Anna Faris would return for Scary Movie 6.
In May 2025 Hall received an honorary doctorate in fine arts from her alma mater, Fordham University, where she also delivered a commencement speech.
In October 2024 Hall signed a deal with MGM Alternative (a division of Amazon MGM Studios) for the development and production of unscripted projects.
