Rat Boy is the project of Jordan Cardy (born 1996, Chelmsford, Essex), blending punk, indie rock and hip-hop into a sharp, sardonic portrait of British suburban life. His 2017 debut album SCUM reached the UK Top 15 and earned him the NME Best New Artist award. After two solo records, the project evolved into a full four-piece band, releasing the Stephen Street-produced third album Suburbia Calling in 2024.
Rat Boy released new singles High Life, Sick of It and Broken in 2026, which indicate work on a new album.
Rat Boy performed a series of club concerts in Germany, including in Hanover, Frankfurt and Freiburg.
The band released the single Public Warning, responding to British unrest, price increases and misinformation.
The third album Suburbia Calling was released on April 22, 2024 on Hellcat/Epitaph Records; it was produced by Stephen Street.
Rat Boy performed at the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg.
