Ralph Nathaniel Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes (born 22 December 1962 in Ipswich) is an English actor, producer and director, trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. He built his stage career at the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company before breaking through internationally as Nazi commandant Amon Göth in Spielberg's Schindler's List (1993), which earned him a BAFTA and an Oscar nomination. He is now widely recognised as Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter films, M in the James Bond series, and Cardinal Lawrence in the acclaimed thriller Conclave (2024), for which he received his third Academy Award nomination.
Fiennes began filming the historical drama Embers in Budapest alongside Viggo Mortensen under the direction of Hungarian director István Szabó.
