Raf Vallone (1916-2002) was an Italian actor who started out as a footballer and journalist before turning to film. He built his reputation in Italian neorealist dramas of the 1950s and later appeared in Hollywood productions, including the role of Cardinal Lamberto in The Godfather Part III (1990).
