Portrayal of Guilt is an American trio from Austin, Texas, active since 2017. Guitarist/vocalist Matt King, drummer James Beveridge, and bassist Alex Stanfield forge a sound at the intersection of screamo, black metal, and hardcore - dense, atmospheric, and deliberately hard to categorize. The band has released four studio albums on Run for Cover Records and tours regularly across North America and Europe.

The band released their fourth studio album …Beginning of the End (April 24, 2026) on the Run for Cover Records label.

To mark the album's release, the band announced a spring North American tour, which started on May 9 in Austin and ended on June 7 in Atlanta.

Portrayal of Guilt performed at the Roadburn festival in Tilburg (Netherlands) shortly before the release of their new album.

In October 2024, the band released CHRISTFUCKER II - a collection of remixes of the 2021 album CHRISTFUCKER.
