Pirkko Saisio is a Finnish actress, writer and theatre director born in 1949 in Helsinki. She began as an actress and went on to write novels, plays and film screenplays, often drawing on autofiction. Her trilogy concluded with Punainen erokirja, which won the Finlandia Prize - Finland's top literary award. She has also published under the pen names Jukka Larsson and Eva Wein.
