Philip Dunne (1908-1992) was an American screenwriter, director and producer who spent most of his career at 20th Century Fox. He is best known for the scripts of How Green Was My Valley (1941), The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (1947) and The Robe (1953), earning two Oscar nominations along the way. His work stood out for literate dialogue and a sure hand with historical and romantic drama.
