Petr Horký (born 4 February 1973 in Brno) is a Czech documentary filmmaker, explorer, writer and broadcaster. He studied pedagogy at Masaryk University, film directing at FAMO in Písek, and earned a Ph.D. from Charles University's Faculty of Social Sciences in 2023. He became the first Czech to complete the so-called polar triple - reaching the North Pole (2008), crossing Greenland (2010) and standing at the South Pole. His feature documentary Století Miroslava Zikmunda was the most-attended Czech documentary of 2014 and earned a Czech Lion nomination. He hosts the popular talk show and podcast Hausbot Petra Horkého and has made around a hundred documentary films.
The Hausbot podcast by Petr Horký released new episodes in December 2025, including an interview with a neurosurgeon on the topic of brain and consciousness.
In 2025, Horký filmed a series of 15 interviews dedicated to science and orientation in the contemporary world, supported by an EU grant as part of the National Recovery Plan.
In April 2025, a feature film about an expedition to Mongolia was released in cinemas, in which Horký accompanied a traveler with a historic vehicle.
Petr Horký is registered as a guest speaker at the Besedy a Dohody Horečky 2026 festival near Frenštát pod Radhoštěm (August 17, 2026), where he will lead a discussion on the topic of brain and consciousness.
Horký moderated the program Blízká setkání on Czech Radio in summer 2024 and continues to host the Sunday program Dobré ráno, which he has been moderating since October 2019.
