
PERPETUUM HAVEL
A new Laterna magika production inspired by Václav Havel's libretto, exploring courage and resistance against tyranny. Premiering 10 September 2026 at Palác Akropolis.
Petr Boháč is a Czech director and scenographer, co-founder of the Prague ensemble Spitfire Company, which he runs with his wife, dancer and choreographer Miřenka Čechová. Trained in Czech literature, he works across physical theatre, multimedia and opera, with productions seen in over 20 countries and awards including the Herald Angel Award and the Edinburgh Fringe First Award. He also serves as dramaturg at Palác Akropolis and artistic director of the international festival Nultý bod in Prague.
Spitfire Company completed its participation in Festival d'Avignon Off 2025 at La Manufacture, where it presented two productions and co-organized a conference on Czech performative art.
Spitfire Company and Městská divadla pražská presented the premiere of the family production Gulliver's Travels at the ABC Theatre, directed by Petr Boháč and Miřenka Čechová.
Spitfire Company completed a Slovak tour with the production The End of Man?!?
Spitfire Company premiered the production Vivat Messi at the Hybernia Theatre as part of the Tanec Praha festival; the performance was subsequently included in the theatre's permanent repertoire.
The production The End of Man?!? won the Fringe First Award at Edinburgh Festival Fringe and received four-star reviews in The Guardian, The Telegraph, and The Scotsman.
