Otto Hejnic (born 1975) is a Czech jazz drummer, composer and bandleader who trained at the Prague State Conservatory and spent several years playing in the United States. He founded the Otto Hejnic Trio in 2009 with pianist Ondrej Krajňák and double bassist Josef Fečo, releasing four albums on the Slovak label Hevhetia. Since 2022 he has also led the international soul-jazz project Otto Hejnic Organism alongside New York Hammond organist Brian Charette.
Hejnic released the album "Forms Of Happiness" (Peter Bernstein, Brian Charette) as the first project of his own label Ätträ Records after Hevhetia ceased its publishing activities.
At the beginning of 2024, Hejnic performed a concert at the New York Bohemia Hall and recorded an album there with guitarist Peter Bernstein and organist Brian Charette.
Otto Hejnic performed at a private event for presidents Petra Pavel and Bill Clinton at the Prague Reduta theatre.
Otto Hejnic Trio released the album "This Is How It Is" on the Hevhetia label, on which Ondrej Krajňák switched from acoustic piano to Rhodes piano.
Hejnic expanded his discography with the project Otto Hejnic Organism with Brian Charette and Welsh saxophonist Osian Roberts, which released the albums Beringia (2022) and Sunday at the Studio (2023).
