Nemuer is a Prague-based dark pagan folk project founded in 2014 by Czech composer and multi-instrumentalist Michael Zann. The music draws on ancient Egyptian, Norse and Babylonian mythologies, sung exclusively in dead languages or wordless primordial chanting. Live shows are staged as rituals, combining throat singing, shamanic drums, historical instruments, candles and video projections.
Nemuer is working on an artistic music film in collaboration with Czech visual artist Klara Sedlo; the film draws from texts of the Book of the Dead.
Nemuer will perform at the Warsaw club VooDoo Club together with the project Alembik.
Nemuer is organizing Pagan Nights 3 at the Prague Futurum Music Bar together with the bands Weljar and Lichočar.
The album Going Forth by Day was released, featuring Karl Sanders from the death metal band Nile; the single She Who Breathes Life is sung in ancient Egyptian.
