
KVÍLENÍ: New Voices Are Needed!
The ninth edition of the Kvílení festival returns in a single-day format with author readings, discussions, and music dedicated to Bohumila Grögerová.
Nela Bártová (born 1998, Opava) is a Czech poet and intermedia artist working across poetry, visual art, sound and video. Her debut collection Na konci chodby je ráno (2021) earned a Magnesia Litera nomination; her second book Házeliště granátů (2025) won the Jiří Orten Award. She studied sculpture at FaVU VUT Brno and the Prague Academy of Fine Arts, and under the alias neli vanilli she mixes techno and records field audio.
Nela Bártová received the Jiří Orten Prize (39th edition) for the collection Házeliště granátů; the official announcement took place on May 19 at Čítárna Unijazzu in Prague.
The second poetry collection Házeliště granátů by Nela Bártová was published by Bílý Vigvam publishing house in Ostrava with abstract illustrations by Matouš Střelec.
The presentation of the collection Házeliště granátů took place on August 27, 2025 in Prague as part of the joint event Nela² together with poet Nela Haluzová.
An exhibition by Nela Bártová titled Ohrwurm - a sound installation mapping spa springs in Karlovy Vary using hydrophone and geophone - was held at the House of Art in Ústí nad Labem.
