Christmas Concert: Czech Carols and French Horn Solos
A festive concert featuring Czech Christmas carols and French horn concertos performed by the Moravian Theatre Orchestra and soloists.
The Moravian Theatre Choir is the opera chorus of Moravian Theatre Olomouc, the only three-ensemble theatre in Central and Eastern Moravia. Its 30 permanent singers, supplemented by an external chorus, cover opera, operetta and oratorio repertoire. The theatre building on the Upper Square dates to 1830, and the ensemble's history includes associations with figures such as Gustav Mahler and Beno Blachut.
The choir performed in April 2026 at the Easter concert of the Moravian Philharmonic Olomouc with Rossini's Stabat Mater at the Reduta; conductor Michael Dvořák.
The 2025/2026 season brought new artistic leadership of the opera ensemble - Jiří Přibyl became the head - and the opera season opened with Puccini's Tosca.
In the 2025/2026 season, the choir also studied Mozart's Don Giovanni and the musical Evita by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
The theater announced a competition for the opera choir for the voice group I. bass with entry from January 1, 2027.
