Michal Isteník (born 1983, Nové Strašecí) is a Czech theatre, television and film actor. Since 2008 he has been a core member of the Městské divadlo Brno drama ensemble, and he also worked as actor, writer and director at the independent BuranTeatr company. He holds the Cena Thálie 2014 for his role as Chichikov in Dead Souls and the Alfréd Radok Award for Talent of the Year 2011. He became a household name through the role of barman Eda in the cult comedy series Most! (2019).
Isteník appeared in the crime series Metoda Markovič: Straka (Oneplay/TV Nova), whose first episode aired on January 9, 2026.
At the Municipal Theatre Brno, the premiere of the production The Barber of Seville took place on November 1, 2025, in which Isteník played the title role of Figaro directed by Stanislav Moš.
Isteník played in the football comedy Kouzlo derby (premiere July 17, 2025), where he portrayed a burned-out former professional footballer Milan Doubek.
Isteník confirmed in an interview that he is negotiating with Czech Television about filming a comedic conspiracy series with the working title Brněnský výbor.
The magazine Vlasta.cz reported that Isteník became the face of a viral Christmas campaign for an internet television channel, which became a hit on social media.
