Michaela Coel is a British actress and writer of Ghanaian descent. She rose to wide recognition with the HBO/BBC series I May Destroy You (2020), which she wrote and starred in, winning an Emmy and a BAFTA for her work. In the film Christophers (2025) she stars alongside Ian McKellen in Steven Soderbergh's crime comedy.
