Mia Soteriou is a British actress, musician and composer of Greek Cypriot descent, born in London. She trained in piano at the Royal College of Music and read English at Oxford before launching an acting career with Mike Leigh's Secrets & Lies (1996). She is best known internationally for playing Mirri Maz Duur in Game of Thrones (HBO, 2011) and for her work on the Mamma Mia! (2008) film as both actress and vocal coach. Alongside screen work she performs as a singer-songwriter and leads the project The FolkBlues Collective.
Soteriou took on the role of Carol Tregorran in the BBC Radio 4 series The Archers, replacing Eleanor Bron.
In the big-budget science fiction film Project Hail Mary (Amazon MGM Studios, directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller), she played the role of Dr. Browne alongside Ryan Gosling.
In the second season of the series Andor (Disney+), she appeared in two episodes as the character Mishko.
She voiced the character Oksana in the action game The First Berserker: Khazan (English version).
She appeared in a guest role in the British crime series Down Cemetery Road and in the thriller The Assassin (Prime Video).
