Mélanie Laurent (born 21 February 1983 in Paris) is a French actress, director, and singer. She broke through internationally with the role of Shosanna Dreyfus in Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds (2009), having already won the César Award for Most Promising Actress for Don't Worry, I'm Fine (2006). Behind the camera she directed the César-winning documentary Demain (2015) and the Amazon Prime drama The Mad Women's Ball (2021).
Laurent plays one of the main roles in the six-part thriller The Hunt (Traqués), which streams on Apple TV+ from March 4, 2026 - the series entered the platform's global top 10 shortly after its premiere.
The Hunt series ranked 6th in the Apple TV chart in the Czech Republic shortly after its launch.
The film Qui brille au combat directed by Joséphine Japy premiered at the Cannes Film Festival 2025, in which Laurent plays one of the main roles; it was released in French distribution on December 31, 2025.
The film Libre (Freedom) was released on Amazon Prime in November 2024 - a heist romance about Bruno Sulak, which Laurent directed and also stars in.
Laurent participated in the Cannes Film Festival in May 2026, where she presented two new acting roles.
