Mejla Hlavsa

Mejla Hlavsa (born Milan Hlavsa, 1951-2001) was a Czech bassist and composer, the founding force behind The Plastic People of the Universe. The band became a symbol of underground resistance to the communist regime in Czechoslovakia. He appears as one of the figures in Karel Vachek's documentary essay.
