Medvěd 009 is a rock band from Úvaly near Prague, playing since 1994. Their sound is built on guitar riffs, saxophone and catchy melodies with humorous lyrics - the saxophone player Ruda Rig gave the band its distinctive character. Co-founder Vašek Bláha went on to front Divokej Bill yet remains a member of Medvěd 009, keeping the two Úvaly bands closely linked. The band's discography includes Chci se jen dohodnout (2003), Hudba vás mladých (2007), Pozdravuj (2010) and the anniversary record Medvěd 009 20 (2015); they are a regular fixture at the Rock for People festival.
