Matteo Lane is an American stand-up comedian, actor, and operatically trained singer of Italian-Mexican heritage, born in 1986 in Illinois. Before comedy, he spent years in Italy as an oil painter and opera singer - a background that gives his stage persona a genuinely unusual edge. Named one of Variety's "10 Comics to Watch," he has sold out Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center, released his Hulu special Al Dente in 2025, and made his Broadway debut as Billy Flynn in Chicago in June 2026.
Lane made his Broadway debut in the role of Billy Flynn in the musical Chicago at the Ambassador Theatre in New York, where he performs from June 22 to July 19, 2026.
Lane launched the We Gotta Catch Up! tour, which will take him through a series of American cities including Denver, Pittsburgh, Washington, and Atlanta.
His stand-up special Matteo Lane: The Al Dente Special premiered on Hulu, which he worked on for approximately two and a half years.
