Master Boot Record (MBR) is an Italian electronic metal project from Rome, created by Vittorio D'Amore (aka Victor Love). It started in 2016 as a byproduct of his work on the soundtrack for the cyberpunk adventure game VirtuaVerse - the material came out too heavy for the game, so he spun it off as a separate project. MBR blends chiptune, synthesized metal and classical orchestral elements; all studio output is 100% synthesized. Since 2019 the project has been signed to Metal Blade Records and has released over fourteen albums in under a decade.
MBR released his first live album Realtime Execution on April 9, 2026 as "name your price" on Bandcamp; the recording captures 15 tracks from various cities around the world and for the first time features live drums, rearranged guitars, and performances on Commodore 64 and Amiga 500.
Along with the release of the live album, MBR announced 65 planned concerts for 2026 - a North American tour (April-May), summer festivals, and a European-British tour (November-December).
Metal Blade Records announced in December 2025 a North American headliner tour by MBR for spring 2026 in support of the album Hardwarez.
The album Hardwarez was released on October 11, 2024 on Metal Blade Records; unlike previous recordings, it for the first time features overdubbed live guitars alongside fully synthesized elements.
The European autumn tour 2024 included stops in Prague (Kasárna Karlín, November 14) and Brno (Kabinet Múz, November 15).
