Martin Vačkář (born 1947, Prague) is a Czech journalist, screenwriter, and Japanese interpreter-translator. The son of composer Dalibor C. Vačkář, he studied Japanese and English at Charles University, with stints in Tokyo and Zurich. He wrote about music for the daily Lidová demokracie, then worked as a freelance publicist and from 1989 coordinated Japanese TV crews filming documentaries on Czech culture, history, and sport. His stage work includes the musical Má férová Josefína and the comedy Muži v ofsajdu.
