
Dvořák Festival: Rusalka at Skalka Castle

Martin Šrejma is a Czech lyric tenor, a graduate of the Prague Conservatoire in the class of Professor Jiří Kotouč and a two-time laureate of the International Singing Competition of Antonín Dvořák in Karlovy Vary (2002 and 2004). He joined the Prague State Opera in 2005 and has been a soloist of the National Theatre Opera in Prague since 2012, covering a wide range from Mozart and Rossini to Verdi, Wagner and Czech opera. His portrayal of Živný in Janáček's Fate won the main prize at the Opera 2020 festival; he also appears regularly at the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava and other Czech opera houses.
Šrejma played the role of Amenophis (the Pharaoh's son) in the contemporary Czech premiere of Rossini's grand opera Moses and Pharaoh at the National Theatre of Moravian-Silesia in Ostrava (premiere February 12, 2026).
The production of The Florentine Straw Hat with Šrejma in the leading role of Fadinard was presented at the Musical Theatre Festival Opera 2025 on the stage of the Estates Theatre in Prague (April 14, 2025).
Šrejma performed the title role of Fadinard in the Czech premiere of Nino Rota's comic opera The Florentine Straw Hat at the National Theatre of Moravian-Silesia in Ostrava (premiere March 13, 2025).
Šrejma performed at the Delirio gala concert at the State Opera Prague alongside soprano Jessica Pratt under the baton of Andrij Jurkevych.
Šrejma sang the role of Cassio in the production of Verdi's Othello at the State Opera Prague (September 2024).
