Martin McDonagh is an Irish-British playwright and film director known for his darkly comic works. He rose to prominence with his Leenane Trilogy of plays set in rural Ireland, which includes The Skull in Connemara. As a filmmaker, he is known for In Bruges and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, the latter winning him an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.
