PERPETUUM HAVEL
A new Laterna magika production inspired by Václav Havel's libretto, exploring courage and resistance against tyranny. Premiering 10 September 2026 at Palác Akropolis.
Martin Hůla (born 3 August 1979, Prague) is a musician, composer and sound designer who moves freely between genres and media. He is best known as the rapper and producer Bonus - his album Náměstí míru (2011) won the inaugural Apollo award of Czech music criticism - and as the minimalist electronic artist Martin Tvrdý. In recent years he has focused primarily on theatre and film music, collaborating with the National Theatres in Prague, Brno and Ostrava, as well as companies such as Spitfire Company, Tantehorse and Cirk La Putyka, while also working in sound design for VR/AR projects and podcasts.
For the premiere of the production at the National Theatre of Moravian-Silesia in Ostrava, Hůla released a soundtrack titled Ptáčci (20. 1. 2026).
On his own label Temný síly, Hůla released the album Noční krajina - a soundtrack to the theatrical production of the National Theatre Brno.
Martin Hůla completed a residency at the prestigious Swedish studio Elektronmusikstudion (EMS) in Stockholm, where he worked from 10 to 16 October 2024.
The album Syntfonie v dur was released on the label Temný síly (October 2024).
In August 2024, Hůla released the album Vostok1 on the label Temný síly.
