Mark Alan Ruffalo (born November 22, 1967, in Kenosha, Wisconsin) is an American actor, producer, and activist whose career spans independent theater of the 1990s through global blockbusters. He gained worldwide recognition as Bruce Banner / Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe from 2012, while critics prize him for four Academy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actor - for The Kids Are All Right, Foxcatcher, Spotlight, and Poor Things - and an Emmy win for I Know This Much Is True (2020). Away from the screen, he is a prominent advocate for climate justice and environmental causes.
