Marien & Víťa Troníček

About

Marien is a folk band from Pardubice, founded in 2004 by guitarist, singer and songwriter Víťa Troníček after the breakup of his previous group Poupata. The seven-piece lineup combines acoustic guitar music, rich multi-part harmonies and a blend of folk, country and Czech tramping music. The band has won the Porta award three times, helped launch the Folk žije! movement and collaborated with many Czech folk legends. Their fifth album, Světla je víc (2024), was released on the Supergram label to mark the band's 20th anniversary.
