Maria de Medeiros (born 19 August 1965 in Lisbon) is a Portuguese actress, singer and film director equally at home in European arthouse and Hollywood productions. She is best known internationally as Fabienne in Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction (1994), but her filmography spans over a hundred titles across five languages. Her directorial debut, Capitães de Abril (2000), a drama about Portugal's Carnation Revolution, was selected for the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes. She has also released four music albums drawing on jazz, fado and French chanson.
