Ballet "Swan Lake" in Prague
Grand Royal Classical Ballet, directed by Marcin Rolczyński, performs a traditional staging of Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake" at Divadlo Hybernia.
Marcin Rolczyński is a Polish dancer and cultural manager, a graduate of the J. Jarzynówny-Sobczak Ballet School in Gdańsk. He began his professional career at the Baltic Opera and from 2004 danced with the ballet company of the Stanisław Moniuszko Grand Theatre in Poznań. In 2016 he staged his first independent production of Swan Lake, then founded Królewski Balet Klasyczny (Grand Royal Classical Ballet) - Poland's first commercial ballet company - which tours classical repertoire across Europe and beyond. The company has since expanded to the United States under the name European Royal Classical Ballet.
European Royal Classical Ballet, the American branch of Marcina Rolczyńskiego's company, completed an inaugural tour of the USA with a production of Swan Lake, including performances in Benton Harbor (Michigan) and Davenport (Iowa).
The company performed Swan Lake at the Prague Hybernia Theatre and in Brno, where Grand Royal Classical Ballet performances are regularly presented.
The company expanded its repertoire with Sleeping Beauty and Tango-show to the music of Astor Piazzolla and continued touring Lithuania, Austria, Germany, Hungary, and other countries.
The company performed in Japan as part of increasingly ambitious international tours.
