Marc Márquez (born 1993, Cervera, Spain) is a nine-time motorcycle racing world champion - seven times in MotoGP, once in Moto2 and once in the 125cc class. After years of injury setbacks and five surgeries on his right arm, he returned to the top in 2025 with the factory Ducati Lenovo Team, claiming his seventh MotoGP title and equalling Valentino Rossi's record. He is known for an aggressive riding style and a rare ability to extract the maximum even from difficult situations on track.
Márquez returned to the track at the Hungarian Grand Prix in Balaton Park after double surgery on his leg and shoulder, achieving his 100th Grand Prix victory.
At the sprint in France (Le Mans), Márquez suffered a fracture of the fifth metatarsal of his right foot and simultaneously discovered that a screw from a previous shoulder operation was pressing on the radial nerve - he underwent double surgery in Madrid and missed the Catalan Grand Prix.
Márquez won his seventh MotoGP World Championship title at the Japanese Grand Prix, thereby equaling Valentino Rossi's record and ending a six-year wait for a title.
After a collision with Marc Bezzecchi at the Indonesian Grand Prix, Márquez suffered a fractured collarbone and ligament damage to his right shoulder and missed the rest of the 2025 season.
Márquez won his eighth BMW M Award for the fastest qualifier of the season, thereby breaking his own record.
