Mac DeMarco (born Vernor Winfield McBriare Smith IV, April 30, 1990, Duncan, British Columbia) is a Canadian singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and self-producing artist who grew up in Edmonton and now lives in Los Angeles. His blend of indie rock, jangle pop and lo-fi - crystallised on the 2014 album Salad Days - made him one of the defining voices of 2010s indie. He writes, plays, records and mixes everything himself, and his live shows are as well known for their loose, comedic energy as for the music.
