Liza Colón-Zayas (born July 15, 1972, in the Bronx) is an American actress and playwright of Puerto Rican descent. She became widely known for playing line cook Tina Marrero in The Bear, a role that earned her the 2024 Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series - making her the first Latina to win in that category. Before her television breakthrough she spent over three decades in New York theater, collecting Drama Desk, Obie, and Lucille Lortel awards along the way.
