Lilly Wachowski (born December 29, 1967, in Chicago) is an American film director, writer and producer. Together with her sister Lana Wachowski, she co-created The Matrix trilogy - the 1999 original grossed over $463 million worldwide and reshaped science fiction cinema with its visual effects and philosophical depth. Their other credits include V for Vendetta, Speed Racer, Cloud Atlas and the Netflix series Sense8. Lilly also co-founded the Anarchists United Foundation, which champions underrepresented voices in film and television.
