Lesley Manville is a British actress born in 1956 whose career spans more than five decades across stage, film and television. She is best known internationally for her Oscar-nominated performance in Phantom Thread (2017) and her Emmy-nominated portrayal of Princess Margaret in The Crown. On stage she has won multiple Olivier Awards, most recently in 2025 for playing Jocasta in Robert Icke's Oedipus - a role she then took to Broadway, winning the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play in 2026.
Manville was announced as the performer of Violet Weston in the upcoming West End revival of the play August: Osage County at the Noël Coward Theatre, which will open in January 2027.
Manville played the Marquise de Merteuil in the production of Les Liaisons Dangereuses at the National Theatre (Lyttelton), where the production ran from March 21 to June 6, 2026.
