Le Cinesi (The Chinese Women) is a one-act opera by Christoph Willibald Gluck, composed in 1754 to a libretto by Pietro Metastasio. Three young women and their companion try out different theatrical genres in a Chinese setting. Its intimate scale makes it a natural fit for historic court theatres.
