Wake Me Up When September Ends: Laokoon, Ctib, Labasheeda...
The second edition of Wake Me Up When September Ends festival at Kafara features concerts, talks, and lectures with Laokoon, Ctib, Labasheeda, and other Czech and international artists.
Laokoon is an experimental rap duo from Brno, Czech Republic, formed by rapper Mikuláš Hamerla (Sekvoye) and producer Jiří Machů (Killiekrankie). Their sound blends industrial electronics with raw, Dadaist-inflected Czech lyrics. The duo took their name from a 1970 animated short film and have released five albums since their 2020 debut.
Laokoon released their fifth album Srdcerváč (April 2026), which the duo describes as more civil and open compared to their previous work, featuring guests David Machovský (Blue Uandi) and Antonín Mika.
Laokoon performed as support at the Idea's Choice event as part of the Prague Sounds festival at Prague's La Fabrice (November 13, 2025).
Laokoon released their fourth album Zbytky dresu (November 1, 2024), a seven-track record recorded and mixed by Jiří Machů with mastering by Gargle and Expel.
The third album Doping was released on November 3, 2023 with twelve tracks and a number of guests including rapper Idea, Blue Uandi, and Arlety.
The second album Šperk was released on March 18, 2022 on Korobushka Records and in vinyl edition; the originally planned EP had to be re-recorded from scratch after the hard drive with the recordings burned.
