Ladislav Myslivec is a Czech actor best known for playing the boiler-room engineer Ing. Václav Křížek in Tomáš Vorel's cult film Kouř (1990). His character - a brilliant engineer brought down by a colleague's denunciation under the communist regime - became one of the film's defining figures. Kouř, sometimes called a "rhythmical musical," is now a landmark of Czech cinema from the late communist era.
